Community Yoga with Adrienne

Saturdays @ 9:30am - 10:45am

A common translation of the Sanskrit word for Yoga is, "to yolk", or “to unite” referring to the union of body, mind and spirit. The practice of yoga aims to create this union both with the individual self and the collective consciousness. That is where Community Yoga with Adrienne comes in. 


During this 75 minute class, for 60 minutes, you will be given time to connect your body with your breath. Classes will move slowly while Adrienne gives you opportunities to explore postures and the way your body reacts to them.  Classes are designed to create a space for self reflection, quieting the mind, and releasing tension in the body.  In each class you will find a Vinyasa Flow style sequence that is accessible, through modifications, to a variety of experience levels. 


The last 15 minutes will be dedicated to the practice of sangha. Sangha is a Sanskrit word meaning community. During this time you will be encouraged to gather, get to know, and connect with fellow students and community members. Adrienne will create space for conversation as we explore what it means to expand our consciousness beyond ourselves. This practice will help you take your yoga beyond your mat and into the world with a deeper connection to self, and to those around you.
