Here at Good Health is a Habit, we want our yoga classes to serve as a mindful pause in your busy life, helping you connect with the mind, body and breath. You will be encouraged to breathe consciously and find strength and ease in your body as you move through various poses. Your practice is an opportunity to move mindfully, cultivate an intention and connect with yourself.
Join us for live classes through Zoom or Recorded Classes! If the class times don't work with your schedule, no problem! Simply make a reservation for one and when the live class is finished, you will receive an email with access to the recorded class for the next 48 hours.
**In-person classes to resume by mid-June including OUTDOOR Yoga classes on Saturdays with Erin.
Taught by Kathryn Gardner, chair yoga is one of the gentlest forms available and offers all of the benefits of other yoga classes. Founded on mindfulness of the breath, body, mind & heart, this class encourages students to find a balance between support and challenge. A series of options are given for the postures, allowing students to develop their yoga practice using the chair for balance and support, without having to get up or down from the floor. Chair yoga reduces stress while increasing strength, flexibility, range of motion & balance. All bodies are welcome, and no experience is necessary.
VERY GENTLE FLOW
Taught by Susan Kane, this class is designed for those who are new to yoga and those with some experience who desire a slow paced class. Susan guides her students through a substantial warm up using a mindfulness approach to develop mind-body-breath awareness. Once the body is warmed up, Susan gently leads yoga stretches and asanas, with the goal of helping her students experience the many benefits a yoga practice offers. Susan's cheery disposition, honest laughter and thoughtful planning create a safe, fun and enriching yoga class.
Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00-10:15am
Saturday, 9:30am-10:45am **Offered on the Back Lawn of the Waterford Library starting mid-June
Taught by Erin Girzone, this class is designed for anyone who is interested in or already enjoys yoga. Erin holds the space for all students, offering options during transitions and in poses so that everyone feels supported and can experience the benefits of yoga
Erin encourages her students to see each pose/posture as an opportunity to find stability and strength and then to notice where they begin to feel the body stretching. Throughout class Erin brings her students awareness back to the breath, always emphasizing the power of the breath as a tool to invite the mind to focus and the body to open.
First Wednesday of the month, 6:00 - 7:00pm
In this class, Susan begins with a few yoga stretches and then brings you into a comfortable resting pose. Next, Susan guides you through a meditation moving through the koshas; the physical, energy, mental, psychic and bliss bodies. Focused breathing and visualization follow, to leave you in a state of deep relaxation. Join Susan for yoga nidra and experience calm, clarity and peace throughout your being.
Join Susan Kane this April for Spring Into Yoga for a three-week introductory yoga series.
This class is for you if you have always wanted to learn yoga but you didn’t know where to start.
Thursday April 15th, 22nd, 29th
“I had been doing yoga for a couple of months when I decided to try the Chair Yoga. For me, it was a good fit; not too advanced and it really helped drive home the fundamentals, like paying attention to my breath, my body and my posture without judgment. I would definitely recommend this class.” - Lisa G.
"It's the rapport with the instructor that keeps me coming to Susan's class.
Susan's approach is always, 'try this and modify to meet your needs.' She is friendly, cheerful, and funny. The class is not too serious, but about the serious issue of taking care of yourself. Afterwards, I always feel like I have had a massage, but I did it all by myself with Susan's help." ~ Donna H.
"Erin is a truly gifted yoga instructor. She is not only well-educated and trained, she is a lovely person. She is so capable of explaining the proper body positions, and modifying for all levels of clients.
I’ve been doing yoga since the 70’s and Erin is the BEST yoga instructor ever! I feel wonderful after her classes. I’ve noticed improvements in flexibility, strength, and balance. I feel calmer and I have more energy. I feel rejuvenated! She is so knowledgable and teaches us how to connect body, mind and soul! She’s inspirational!" ~Chris A.
